Sindh Govt to Release Early Salaries Before Eid al-Adha

The Sindh government has announced Early Salary Eid relief for its employees ahead of Eid al-Adha, confirming that May 2026 salaries will be released before the festival. The decision aims to support government staff in managing expenses during the festive period.

According to the Finance Department, all Muslim employees of the Sindh government will receive their May salaries on May 20, nearly a week before Eid. Retired employees will also receive their pensions on the same date, providing timely financial relief ahead of the religious occasion.

Officials said the step was taken to ensure convenience for employees and their families as they prepare for Eid al-Adha celebrations. The move is also seen as part of broader efforts to ease financial pressure during the holiday season.

Early disbursement details

The official notification confirms that salaries and pensions will be processed on May 20, 2026. Employees have already received their April salaries earlier this month, meaning many will effectively receive two payments in May.

Eid al-Adha is likely to fall on May 27 if the Zil-Hajj moon is sighted on May 17. If the moon is not sighted, Eid will fall on May 28. The final decision will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after its meeting scheduled for May 17.

Sindh’s decision follows the federal government’s early salary announcement ahead of Eid.

Employees welcomed the decision as it helps with Eid shopping, travel, and expenses. The early release is expected to benefit thousands of government workers and pensioners across Sindh.
