Saudi Arabia Empowers Students with 94 Overseas Scholarships to advance education and media sector growth. The Wa’ed scholarship program provides opportunities for Saudi students study abroad in media programs. These overseas scholarships target academic and training programs in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Spain.

The Ministry of Media of Saudi Arabia announced the initiative to strengthen human capital investment. Minister Salman Al-Dossary signed agreements with MBC Group, One Group, Al-Zhuhur Media, Hawadee, Shibh Al-Jazira, Salham, La’bah, Jathr Production, and Waves. This public-private partnership in media connects education with real-world employment opportunities.

The program offers 94 seats across diverse academic and practical training pathways. It includes 56 bachelor’s scholarships, 21 master’s scholarships, 11 diploma scholarships, and six specialized media training programs. Deputy Minister Israa Assiri highlighted that Saudi media education supports sector sustainability and competitiveness. Students gain skills in media production, distribution, technology, platform development, and marketing.

These scholarships aim to develop Saudi talent capable of leading transformation in the media and creative industries. By investing in international education opportunities, Saudi Arabia empowers students with global exposure while boosting the creative economy. Companies can design programs aligned with their employment needs, ensuring closer alignment between academic outcomes and labor market requirements.
