The announcement came during a session of the National Assembly in Islamabad, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif shared details of his recent telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. During the call, the Iranian president formally invited Pakistan to participate in the funeral ceremonies scheduled for early July.

Shehbaz Sharif confirmed that Pakistan has accepted the invitation and will send an official delegation as a sign of respect and strong bilateral ties between Islamabad and Tehran. He said the move reflects the long-standing diplomatic, religious, and regional relationship shared by both countries.

The prime minister also highlighted that the invitation exchange went both ways, with Iran also welcoming him for a future visit. He described the development as part of a broader effort to strengthen cooperation and regional stability.

Strengthening Pakistan-Iran Relations
