The Punjab PharmD internship program has officially been launched by the Health & Population Department of Punjab, offering new opportunities for PharmD students, graduates, and postgraduates across public sector universities in the province. The initiative is aimed at strengthening professional training in the pharmaceutical and drug regulation sector.
According to official details, the internship program has been introduced under the Directorate of Drugs Control. The program provides practical exposure to pharmacy students and young graduates. It helps them gain hands-on experience in regulatory practices, healthcare systems, and drug management processes.
The program is open to a wide range of candidates. Final-year PharmD students awaiting results can apply. Graduates from the last two years can also apply. MPhil and Master’s degree holders in relevant fields are also eligible if they graduated within the last two years.
Officials stated that the initiative will help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world pharmaceutical practice. It will improve technical skills and enhance the employability of young professionals entering the healthcare sector.
Applicants must submit their applications online through the official internship portal. Authorities clearly state that they will only accept online applications. Candidates must complete their profiles and upload all necessary documents during the registration process.
The internship deadline is 12 May 2026. The portal closes at midnight on that day. Authorities have advised applicants to avoid waiting until the last moment to prevent technical issues.
The government’s initiative is part of broader efforts to improve healthcare education and strengthen the drug regulatory framework in Punjab. By offering structured training opportunities, the program aims to prepare a more skilled workforce for the pharmaceutical sector.
