Apni Chhat Programme: How to Apply for an Interest-Free Loan

The Punjab government has introduced interest-free financing under the Apni Chhat Programme to help low-income families improve their homes by repairing damaged roofs or constructing upper floors. The initiative offers eligible applicants loans ranging from Rs500,000 to Rs1 million, making home improvement more accessible for qualifying residents across the province.

People who meet the eligibility requirements can submit their applications through the official online portal. In addition, the government has established facilitation centres across Punjab to assist those who need help with the application process.

How to Apply for the Apni Chhat Programme

Applicants must first visit the official ACAG portal and register by creating an account with their personal details. After signing in, they can choose one of the available financing options that best meets their requirements.

The portal provides two loan categories:

Afterward, applicants must upload the required documents after choosing the appropriate loan category before submitting their application.

Documents Required for the Application

Required documents include:

  • Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Proof of property ownership (Fard)
  • Photographs of the existing house

Once all documents are uploaded, the application can be submitted through the online system.

Who Is Eligible for the Apni Chhat Programme?

To qualify for the interest-free loan, the Punjab government has outlined several conditions that applicants must meet.

Eligible applicants must:

Assistance Available Across Punjab

To make the process easier, the government has set up help desks at the offices of all Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners throughout Punjab. Furthermore, applicants can also seek assistance at the regional and deputy director offices of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA).

These facilitation centres are available for people who require guidance in completing the registration process or submitting the necessary documents.
