Temporary Airspace Restrictions Announced in Karachi

Temporary limits on Karachi air routes have been put in place for two days, affecting several flight paths and schedules. The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), confirming that key air corridors in Karachi will remain closed on April 28 and 29 during morning hours.

According to officials, the restrictions apply daily from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The affected routes fall within Karachi’s Flight Information Region and include both domestic and connecting corridors. Authorities said the closures are temporary and linked to operational requirements.

Several important air routes have been suspended, including those connecting Karachi with Nawabshah. Other impacted sectors include corridors such as Milom, Tapdo, Bewin, and Banor. In addition, multiple routes originating from Ormio and the Pexor-to-Banor corridor are also unavailable during the restricted period.

The PAA has directed airlines and pilots to adjust their flight planning accordingly. Alternative routes have already been arranged to reduce disruption. These include adjusted pathways between Karachi and Nawabshah, as well as additional routing options through other aviation corridors.

Passengers may experience minor delays or schedule changes during the affected hours. Airlines have advised travelers to stay in contact for the latest updates and arrive at airports with sufficient time.

Despite the restrictions, aviation authorities emphasized that operations will continue with safety as the top priority. The temporary closures are part of standard airspace management procedures and are expected to be lifted after April 29.
