Fuel Price Hike: Govt Offers Subsidies for Motorcyclists and Transport Vehicles, aiming to ease rising costs for commuters and transporters. The government announced subsidies after petrol and diesel prices reached an all-time high in Pakistan. Motorcyclists, freight transport operators, and public transport services are included in the relief package.
Motorcyclists will get a monthly petrol allowance of Rs100 per litre for up to 20 litres. This subsidy helps offset the burden on daily commuters. Similarly, intercity and freight transport vehicles receive Rs 100 per litre support for one month. Trucks get financial support ranging from Rs70,000 to Rs80,000, while public service buses are provided with Rs100,000 monthly. Pakistan Railways also receives assistance to maintain smooth operations.
Small farmers are not left behind. They will receive a one-time diesel subsidy of Rs 1,500 to support agricultural activities. These measures address the economic impact on households and ease rising transportation and logistics costs. The government has confirmed a review of the relief package after one month to ensure its effectiveness.
The petrol price hike comes after fuel rates in Pakistan surged to Rs458.40 per litre for petrol and Rs520.35 per litre for diesel. This record petrol price increase sparked concerns over inflation and higher daily costs for commuters. Experts say the subsidy gives immediate relief, but authorities must plan long-term solutions to stabilize fuel rates.
In conclusion, the fuel price hike relief package benefits motorcyclists, the transport sector, and small farmers. Subsidy measures provide temporary financial support, ensuring smoother transportation and less burden on households.
