The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has planned full road reconstruction, including sewerage system improvement, to address drainage issues. The road, originally built over two decades ago, suffered damage due to heavy traffic and the impact of nearby University Road construction. The project’s 44 to 46-foot-wide road will support increased traffic volumes and improve long-term road durability and maintenance.
Officials stated that Sehba Akhtar Road rehabilitation will directly benefit residents, including areas like Block 13-D, Gulshan Chowrangi, and Hassan Square. This reconstruction is part of broader Karachi road reconstruction plans, which also include Rashid Minhas Road development, Sir Shah Suleman Road reconstruction, and upgrades to key commuter routes like Drigh Road to Nagan Chowrangi route.
The project is budgeted at Rs. 200 million and demonstrates a commitment to major city road upgrades and urban traffic management.
