The Rawalpindi PSL franchise, recently acquired by Walee Technologies in a Rs 2.45 billion franchise deal, officially launched the Pindiz team with a 25-second PSL promotional video. The clip highlighted Rawalpindi’s landmarks and included vibrant music, signaling a bold Rawalpindi cricket team rebranding. The video also teased the Pindiz official logo, hinting at a PSL new identity reveal soon.
Previously, the franchise operated as Multan Sultans, but a PSL team ownership change occurred after former owner Ali Tareen did not renew the agreement. The Pakistan Cricket Board, under Mohsin Naqvi, PCB chairman, temporarily managed the team until Walee Technologies won the PSL franchise auction. CD Venturers also participated in the bidding war but withdrew, allowing owner Ahsan Tahir to exercise PSL regulations rebranding rights.
