Vehicles With Temporary or ‘Applied For’ Plates Face Impoundment

Vehicles With Temporary or ‘Applied For’ Plates Face Impoundment as Rawalpindi City Traffic Police step up enforcement. Authorities warn that vehicles using “applied for” or non-standard plates will be seized until proper registration is completed. This crackdown aims to reduce traffic law violations and improve road safety across the city.

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police crackdown includes special checking points in Rawalpindi and entry and exit point checking. Enforcement teams’ deployment ensures district-wide traffic operations efficiently target violators. So far, traffic police have issued 1,755 traffic challans in Rawalpindi to vehicles and motorcycles using fake or numberless plates.

Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam emphasized that a number plate serves as the legal identity of a vehicle. Concealing it with fabricated or counterfeit number plates violates motor vehicle law enforcement. The proposed number plate ban aims to stop counterfeit registration plates and enforce vehicle registration compliance.

Authorities are also addressing motorcycle number plate violations under the vehicle impoundment policy. Authorities are taking immediate legal action against fake plates and will release impounded vehicles only after owners complete registration requirements. Road monitoring authorities warn that numberless vehicles penalties are strict, and repeated violations may lead to heavier fines.

This road safety enforcement campaign ensures that Rawalpindi motorists comply with vehicle registration rules Pakistan-wide. Completing vehicle registration promptly and using standard number plates protects drivers from impoundment and legal consequences.
