KP Cabinet Hikes Ramadan Relief Package 2026 to Rs 12,500, aiming to support low-income and deserving families across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The provincial cabinet approved this increase during its 47th meeting, under Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s directives. This step ensures that financial assistance reaches those struggling with rising inflation and price hikes.
Under the new package, 1.063 million families will receive cash assistance at an average of Rs 12,500 per family. Previously, in Ramadan 2024, each family received Rs 10,000 under the relief program. The 25 percent increase in the relief package reflects the government’s efforts to counter soaring prices of essentials like sugar and wheat flour. The KP government’s financial assistance aims to ease the burden of vulnerable segments during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to a KP economy and finance spokesperson, the initiative highlights the provincial government’s commitment to social welfare. Families across Peshawar and other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will benefit directly from this cash support. The government has also emphasized transparent distribution through local administrative channels to ensure timely delivery.
Meanwhile, astronomers forecast that the Ramadan crescent moon may be sighted in Pakistan on February 18, 2026, which will officially mark the start of Ramadan 2026. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Peshawar to confirm moon sightings, ensuring the package reaches families in time for the holy month.
This KP Ramadan Relief Package 2026 not only provides immediate financial relief but also demonstrates the government’s proactive approach to protecting citizens from inflation. With Rs 12,500 per family, this initiative sets a benchmark for future welfare programs and strengthens public trust in the provincial administration.
