Pakistan Achieves Major Milestone in Polio Vaccination Drive 2026, as over 44.1 million children received polio vaccine drops across the country. This nationwide vaccination drive is part of the ongoing national anti-polio campaign. Millions of children under five years were vaccinated, and health authorities say this step strengthens Pakistan’s polio eradication program.
The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) reported that the Punjab polio vaccination reached over 22.9 million children, while the Sindh children vaccinated exceeded 1 million. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa immunization covered around 7.1 million children, and the Balochistan vaccination campaign included 2.1 million. Azad Jammu and Kashmir polio drive reached over 673,000 children, Gilgit Baltistan vaccination included 261,000, and Islamabad under five years received 455,000 vaccine doses.
Over 400,000 anti-polio workers participated in door-to-door vaccination efforts. They ensured every child under five received polio vaccine drops. This child immunization campaign is crucial because polio disease prevention relies on high coverage. Officials emphasize that mandatory polio vaccination helps maintain Pakistan’s progress toward a polio-free Pakistan.
This six-day vaccination drive ran alongside the Pakistan and Afghanistan polio campaign. Authorities highlight the importance of public awareness, community cooperation, and accurate vaccination campaign statistics. These steps prevent crippling polio disease and support long-term public health initiatives in Pakistan.
With millions of children inoculated in every province, this nationwide health campaign demonstrates Pakistan’s strong commitment to eliminating polio. Experts believe sustained door-to-door vaccination and continuous monitoring are vital to keep Pakistan polio-free.
