CM Maryam Launches ‘Sohna Punjab’ Project Across 51 Cities, aiming to transform urban infrastructure in Punjab and improve civic services. The initiative, also called the Sohna Punjab project, covers major cities including Multan, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bhakkar. CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized timely completion and direct oversight of the Punjab development plan to ensure transparency and efficiency.
Under the plan, the Punjab government will upgrade sewerage systems and install over 33,000 manhole covers. HDPE sewerage pipes production is already underway to support sewerage system upgrades. The initiative also includes road development in Punjab, with major projects in Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Vehari. Provincial and district control rooms will monitor city-specific infrastructure projects in real-time, enabling fast public complaint resolution.
CM Maryam prioritizes sanitation and cleanliness initiatives, including solar-powered disposal stations and parks. The program will restore normal life in areas affected by snowfall, ensuring traffic resumption and tourism restoration. Major development packages worth over Rs12 billion are underway, showing the government’s commitment to civic services improvement and urban development in Punjab.
Field teams are working tirelessly for road clearance and rapid implementation, while city authorities maintain transparency in all processes. By June 2026, the first phase of the project, focused on sewerage lines and core urban infrastructure, is expected to be completed.
