Pakistan to Introduce Modern, Secure Designs for Rs 100–Rs 5000 Notes, the federal government announced in a move to modernize Pakistan’s currency. The initiative aims to improve security features in currency notes and prevent counterfeiting. This Pakistan currency redesign will cover all denominations from Rs 100 to Rs 5000 notes.
The Federal Cabinet, guided by the Finance Ministry of Pakistan, formed a special committee for the Pakistan banknote redesign. Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb confirmed that the government has hired international currency design experts. The new designs will include advanced security threads, holograms, and color-changing inks to enhance anti-counterfeiting currency measures.
Each banknote will feature images of historical monuments, representing Pakistan’s regional and geographical diversity. The designs will also highlight women’s inclusion in national development and promote environmental awareness. This modernization reflects the Federal government’s currency plan and strengthens public trust in Pakistan’s financial system.
The currency revamp Pakistan project aligns with broader Pakistan financial reforms, including digital financial services in Pakistan and cross-border digital payment systems. The government recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SC Financial Technologies LLC and World Liberty Financial to support fintech innovations. These steps will complement stablecoins in Pakistan and improve financial inclusion initiatives.
Banks and businesses are advised to prepare for the transition to new currency notes. The government plans an awareness campaign to guide the public on exchanging old notes safely. With these modern banknote designs, Pakistan not only aims to set a global standard in currency security but also celebrates its national heritage.
