Strict Traffic Enforcement in Sindh: Vehicle Seizures for Violations has been announced by the Sindh government to improve road safety. Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon emphasized that vehicles not following traffic laws and route permits will face strict action. Vehicle seizure is now a key measure to ensure drivers comply with speed limits, axle-load rules, and legal obligations.
The Sindh Transport Ministry will strictly punish transporters who overload vehicles or drive recklessly. Public service vehicles, including school and college buses, must follow strict safety standards. Emergency exits and first aid boxes are now compulsory in all vehicles to protect passengers during inter-district travel. Vehicles must carry authentic registration documents and valid driving licenses to avoid confiscation.
Sharjeel Memon highlighted that route permit compliance is mandatory. Transport operators must secure route permits before February 28, or their vehicles may be seized. The excise department will also suspend vehicle registration for violators, and FIRs will be registered against non-compliant transporters. This move enforces legal compliance for transport operators and reduces risks from overloaded or unsafe vehicles.
The government also banned gas usage in inter-district public transport to prevent accidents. Authorities will strictly monitor speed limits and axle-load limits under the National Highway Safety Ordinance. Drivers must follow eligibility rules and maintain proper documentation. Public safety enforcement aims to protect citizens and ensure smooth traffic flow.
Strict Traffic Enforcement in Sindh: Vehicle Seizures for Violations demonstrates the government’s commitment to road safety and compliance. Authorities urge transporters to follow rules, avoid penalties, and prioritize passenger safety. This proactive approach ensures safer roads and reduces accidents in the province.
