Pakistan Launches Nationwide Anti-Polio Drive to Protect Children’s Health, aiming to vaccinate millions of children across the country. The campaign, led by the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), targets high-risk regions for polio. Starting December 15, 2025, the seven-day drive will continue until December 21, covering over 45 million children. Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir will also see vaccination for hundreds of thousands of children.
Over 400,000 male and female polio workers will participate, ensuring smooth vaccine administration. Authorities stress collective responsibility for public health, urging parents to cooperate fully. The campaign follows the October drive, which missed over 1 million children due to unavailability and vaccine refusal. Approximately 53,621 cases of refusal were reported, highlighting the need for increased public awareness.
