Mayor Commits to Keeping Karachi on the Path of Progress, says Murtaza Wahab, focusing on urban revitalization and public infrastructure improvements. The mayor’s commitment includes security measures, removal of encroached land, and better municipal operations. By addressing Karachi’s historical challenges, the city aims to provide safer and more modern community facilities.
Karachi mayor Murtaza Wahab recently held a meeting with the Sindh Chief Minister to discuss urban development projects. These projects target city infrastructure upgrades, improved RO plant water supply, and restoration of parks. For example, the Shireen Jinnah Park inauguration restored a vital community space that was previously encroached by land grabbers. The mayor also emphasized parking for trailers and removing encroachment in Shireen Jinnah Colony to ensure smoother traffic and public safety.
Security in Karachi remains a priority. Political interference in city operations often causes delays, but active steps are underway to maintain law and order. Court restrains operations in some cases, yet the municipal administration continues daily efforts to implement effective solutions. Currently, the RO plant in the area supplies 1.5 Lac gallons of water daily, enhancing public services and supporting residents’ needs.
Mayor Wahab’s vision for Karachi includes sustainable urban planning, infrastructure upgrades, and stronger community facilities. These measures ensure that Karachi’s progress is continuous and resilient. Public engagement, transparent governance, and timely municipal interventions are key factors in preventing setbacks and maintaining a safe, functional, and modern city environment.
