The Toshakhana-2 case revolves around a high-value Bulgari jewellery set given as a diplomatic gift during a Saudi Arabian official visit. Investigators stated the gift was deliberately undervalued, causing a national exchequer loss of Rs32.85 million. Official records valued the jewellery at Rs75.66 million.
The case was initially handled by NAB, but following the Supreme Court verdicts and NAB amendments, it was transferred to the FIA. A three-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) conducted detailed investigations. A total of 20 witness statements were recorded to support the Toshakhana-II reference investigation. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were re-arrested after bail in the Iddat Nikah case, highlighting concurrent sentences.
