UK-Based City & Guilds Education Board Launches in Pakistan

UK-Based City & Guilds Education Board Launches in Pakistan, marking a major step in education expansion in Pakistan. The Federal Ministry of Education approved the board under IBCC regulations, enabling City & Guilds Pakistan operations to provide internationally recognized qualifications. This move supports both academic and vocational learning while ensuring SSC and HSSC equivalence.

The board introduced the GEMS Pathway program, offering certifications equivalent to Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC). These certificates also include vocational and skills-based education options, helping students gain practical expertise. Skill certification programs under City & Guilds also provide Intermediate and A-Level equivalent certificates, ensuring students meet international education standards.

The initiative was formally launched at the Global Skills Summit “Shaping Future Pakistan” in Karachi. Key officials, including Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Education, NAVTTC Chairperson Ghulmina Bilal, and IBCC Executive Director Ghulam Ali Mollah, attended the event. They highlighted the program’s role in education sector reforms in Pakistan and emphasized the board’s contribution to international recognition of student qualifications.

City & Guilds Pakistan operations aim to bridge gaps in general education expansion and vocational training. By offering globally recognized skill certifications, the board supports students in gaining employment or pursuing higher education abroad. The combination of academic, vocational, and skills-based qualifications strengthens Pakistan’s workforce and improves education sector standards.

Overall, the launch of the UK-based City & Guilds Education Board in Pakistan offers students reliable pathways to global education. With IBCC-approved curriculum and GEMS Pathway certifications, learners can achieve SSC, HSSC, and skill-based equivalence while meeting international standards.
