Sindh Approves Major Education, Ecotourism & Industrial Projects Under PPP as the provincial leadership pushes forward large-scale development. Sindh Approves Major Education, Ecotourism & Industrial Projects Under PPP to strengthen infrastructure, attract investment, and improve public services. These Sindh development projects reflect strong government-private sector collaboration under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The education sector received major attention. Authorities plan solar-powered schools in Sindh to support off-grid schools. Improved WASH facilities in girls’ schools will enhance hygiene and attendance. Moreover, Early Childhood Education (ECE) centres will open in 300 model schools in Sindh. Around 24,000 students may benefit annually. The Education Department engaged UNICEF transaction advisors for an education feasibility study.
These steps will accelerate education infrastructure development and promote renewable energy solutions. At the same time, the Sindh Forest & Wildlife Department proposed an ecotourism project in Karachi forests and other regions. The plan covers irrigated plantation forests and mangrove forests near Karachi. Sites include Miani Forest Hyderabad, Khanani Forest Thatta, and Booharki Forest Badin. Officials aim to promote climate-resilient tourism in Sindh through a regulated tourism model.
Eco-friendly tourism facilities will include walking tracks, boating, and wildlife attractions. This approach supports biodiversity conservation in Sindh and creates youth and women employment. International ecotourism best practices will guide biodiversity management and forest protection funding.
Industrial growth also remains a priority. The Marble City Karachi project is under construction as a 300-acre industrial estate. The Marble City Karachi industrial estate will boost the marble and granite sector in Pakistan. About 201 acres are reserved for industrial use. The project encourages foreign investment in Sindh and export-oriented projects. Authorities approved the KWSC water supply connection to ensure smooth operations.
