Punjab Unveils Comprehensive Ramazan Security Guidelines to ensure the safety of mosques, markets, and public spaces across the province. The Punjab Home Department has released directives covering enhanced security at religious sites and Ramazan markets. These measures aim to protect citizens and prevent any disruptions during Sehri, Iftar, and Taraweeh prayers.
Authorities will deploy additional personnel for law enforcement deployment during Ramazan, including police, volunteer guards, and private security. City entry and exit points will be strictly monitored, while biometric systems and CCTV cameras will track movements in crowded areas. Three-tier security arrangements, including barriers and razor wire at key locations, will manage crowd flow and prevent unauthorized entry.
To maintain public safety during fasting hours, loudspeakers will be regulated under the Punjab Sound Systems Act, and offensive wall chalking or posters will be removed according to Punjab regulations. The Home Department also emphasized monitoring hoarders and profiteers to ensure Ramazan markets’ safety. Emergency services like Rescue 1122, fire brigades, and medical teams will remain fully operational during the month.
Mosque and religious site protection will include geo-tagging, mosque mapping, and the formation of management committees. These steps allow coordinated action with intelligence and law enforcement agencies to monitor any proscribed organizations or suspicious activity. Special attention will be given during Friday prayers, with walk-through gates and searchlights at high-risk locations.
The Home Department confirmed that all resources are allocated to maintain a peaceful and secure Ramazan. Citizens are encouraged to follow guidelines, cooperate with authorities, and report any unusual activity immediately. These measures aim to provide a safe environment for worship and community gatherings throughout Punjab.
