PHHF Expands Initiative to Offer Free Clubfoot Surgery for Children, aiming to help children affected by Congenital Talipes Equinovarus (CTEV). This expansion strengthens PHHF’s efforts to provide free surgical treatment for children and improve access to pediatric orthopedic care in Pakistan.
The initiative, led by Prime Hospital Healthcare Facility (PHHF), includes specialized surgical camps and international surgical collaboration. Focused on underdeveloped areas of Sindh, the program ensures early diagnosis of clubfoot and timely intervention. By restoring mobility, children gain improved quality of life and reduced risk of preventable childhood conditions.
During a briefing at Aiwan-e-Sadr, First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was updated by CEO Dr Shahzad Shafiq Musavi on the program’s impact. So far, PHHF has conducted 1,621 outpatient assessments and successfully treated 252 children through free-of-cost surgeries. This demonstrates that with early treatment, clubfoot deformity is fully treatable.
The program emphasizes humanitarian health support and childhood disability prevention. Parliamentary leaders, including Senator Sherry Rehman and other MNAs, expressed full support for sustained attention to these medical initiatives. The focus remains on ensuring children lead dignified and productive lives.
By combining timely medical intervention, community support, and international expertise, PHHF’s initiative sets a benchmark in public health efforts. Moreover, the program addresses disparities in healthcare access and strengthens pediatric orthopedic care in Pakistan’s underdeveloped regions.
With this expansion, PHHF reinforces its commitment to eradicating preventable and treatable childhood disabilities. The program continues to serve as a model for collaborative healthcare solutions that prioritize children’s well-being and long-term mobility.
