Pakistan’s New Highway and Motorway Toll Charges Effective April 2026 have been officially announced by the National Highway Authority (NHA). These revised toll rates apply to multiple vehicle categories and will impact commuters, travelers, and the transport sector nationwide. The charges are set to take effect on April 5, 2026, and cover both national highway toll and motorway toll fees. Drivers of cars, wagons, buses, and trucks should prepare for the updated vehicle toll charges.
The NHA Finance Wing, through a Revenue Directorate notification, outlined the new toll structure per route. On national highways, cars will pay Rs. 100, wagons Rs. 200, and buses Rs. 300. Two- and three-axle trucks have been fixed at Rs. 350, while articulated trucks will pay Rs. 700. Specific routes, such as the Kohat Tunnel (N-55) and Indus Motorway (E-75), have higher rates to cover maintenance and operational costs.
On motorways, toll rates differ by route. Cars will pay Rs. 700 on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1), Rs. 1000 on Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway (M-3), and Rs. 1300 on Pindi Bhattian-Multan Motorway (M-4). The Multan-Sukkur Motorway (M-5) charges Rs. 1500 for cars, while the D.I. Khan-Hakla Motorway (M-14) and the Hassanabdal-Havelian-Mansehra Expressway (E-35) stand at Rs. 800 and Rs. 350 respectively. Larger vehicles will incur higher fees per vehicle category.
The revised toll structure was introduced under relevant provisions of the NHA Act, 1991. The notification ensures transparency and standardization across all vehicle toll charges. Commuters and travelers should plan trips carefully, especially for multi-axle and articulated trucks. These updates aim to support highway maintenance and the overall transportation sector efficiency.
