Pakistan sees LPG Price Hike Nationwide as 2026 Commences, affecting households and businesses across the country. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced the increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, citing international market trends and currency fluctuations. This latest LPG price hike for January 2026 impacts both domestic and commercial consumers nationwide.
Domestic LPG cylinders will now cost Rs 2,466.10, reflecting an increase of Rs 126.09 per cylinder. Similarly, commercial cylinders have been revised to Rs 9,488. The per-kilogram LPG price has risen by Rs 10.68, bringing it to Rs 208.99. OGRA stated that the increase is linked to a 4.93% rise in Saudi Aramco’s CP, partly offset by a 0.15% decrease in the US dollar exchange rate.
The regulator emphasized that LPG prices in Pakistan are determined based on international crude oil benchmarks and currency exchange variations. Transparency in price adjustment ensures consumers understand how global energy trends influence domestic costs. Previously, OGRA had reduced LPG prices for October and November 2025, providing temporary relief to households.
Energy experts note that the LPG price hike affects household energy costs and business operations, urging consumers to plan budgets accordingly. Authorities advise monitoring LPG market trends closely, while regulatory measures ensure fair pricing across regions. OGRA continues to issue notifications detailing monthly LPG rate changes and commercial cylinder availability.
As Pakistan enters 2026, households and businesses must adjust to these revised LPG rates. Despite the hike, authorities highlight ongoing efforts to maintain LPG affordability and protect consumers from sudden energy price shocks.
