The Pakistan Government to Release Employee Salaries Ahead of Eid Festivities, providing a timely financial boost for federal employees before the holiday. The pre-Eid salary disbursement ensures government employees can celebrate Eid al-Fitr comfortably. This announcement by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlights the government’s focus on public sector employee benefits and timely wage payments.
According to an official notification from the Cabinet Division of Pakistan, all federal employees will receive their March 2026 salaries ahead of the holidays. Government offices across Islamabad and other regions will remain closed on March 20 and March 21, 2026, for Eid al-Fitr observance. Since March 22 falls on Sunday and March 23 is a national holiday, many employees will enjoy an extended Eid break, combining the long weekend with official holidays.
The salary advance serves as an important employee financial relief measure and supports families during festive preparations. Federal departments have already started processing payments to ensure funds reach employees before Eid. This move reinforces the government’s commitment to workforce satisfaction and the timely disbursement of wages.
Meanwhile, SUPARCO’s astronomical calculations indicate that the Shawwal moon will be visible on March 19, 2026, confirming that Eid al-Fitr will likely be observed on March 21, 2026. The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will provide the final moon sighting announcement to officially declare the start of the Islamic month.
This proactive approach combines timely salary release with official holiday scheduling, allowing employees to plan celebrations efficiently.
