Major Road Closure in Karachi: A one-week traffic disruption alert

Major Road Closure in Karachi: A one-week traffic disruption alert has been announced due to ongoing Jahangir Road construction. The Karachi Traffic Police confirmed that the section from Teen Hatti to Guru Mandir will remain closed for a week. Commuters are advised to follow traffic diversion plans and stay updated during this Karachi road closure to avoid delays.

Traffic Diversions and Alternate Routes

Authorities have arranged multiple traffic diversions on Karachi routes. Vehicles traveling from Teen Hatti to Guru Mandir will take the Jail Chowrangi route instead. Drivers can also take the Pir Ilahi Bukhsh Road detour and pass through Jamshed Road to reach Guru Mandir. Authorities will redirect heavy traffic from Liaquatabad Dak Khana toward Nazimabad to ease congestion. Officials stress that all commuters must follow signs and traffic personnel instructions.

Ongoing Development and Infrastructure Projects

Mayor Murtaza Wahab stated that Karachi’s infrastructure improvements are progressing. The Karachi Red Line Project will partially open in March and July. Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is investing Rs46 billion in city development, including the Natha Khan Bridge new road and the Pehlwan Goth road project, with Rs1.1 billion specifically for Jahangir Road upgrades. The Korangi Causeway Bridge will open soon, and the EBM Causeway is complete. Funds from a Rs227 million scrap auction will buy heavy trucks for municipal services.

Conclusion

This one-week road closure in Karachi is necessary to ensure safer and more efficient infrastructure. Drivers should plan alternate routes and follow traffic authorities. Karachi’s urban development and traffic management initiatives aim to improve long-term commuter experience and public safety.
