KP Government Unveils Sweeping Health, and Welfare Reforms

KP Government Unveils Sweeping Health, Welfare, and Infrastructure Reforms aimed at improving public services and citizen wellbeing across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The new initiatives focus on healthcare, social welfare, and infrastructure development to benefit women, children, and vulnerable groups. These reforms strengthen KP healthcare reforms and expand public service development in KP.

The KP Cabinet approved Rs4.06 billion for hospital staff recruitment, hiring 2,439 doctors, nurses, and dental surgeons on fixed-pay contracts. Breast screening centers will be established in five divisional headquarters, and 15 kanals of land in Upper Chitral will support nursing college construction. The Lakki Marwat Women and Children Hospital will also receive increased project funding, ensuring better healthcare services expansion.

Social welfare initiatives KP received a boost with financial assistance packages for 6,505 families under the Tirah Model support program. A rehabilitation fund for children will discourage organized begging and provide child protection programs. Minority student grants totaling Rs196 million will supply laptops and enhance educational opportunities in KP. Amendments to the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 will strengthen women’s workplace protection.

Infrastructure & development projects include the Peshawar–Dera Ismail Khan Motorway, land acquisition for public projects, and expansion of the Hangu Judicial Complex. A Ladies and Children Park on Kohat Road will serve families, and new board nominations encourage private sector involvement in infrastructure. Strategic reserves and wheat procurement policies, including Rs38 billion wheat dues adjustment with PASSCO, will stabilize essential supplies.

These combined efforts by the KP government aim to improve healthcare access, uplift social welfare, and accelerate infrastructure development. Citizens can expect stronger public services, better schools, safer workplaces, and improved roads across the province.
