The Mate 80 series includes four models: Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro Max, and Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design. All models feature an LTPO OLED display, ranging from 6.75 to 6.9 inches, with peak brightness up to 8000 nits. Huawei equipped the devices with RAM options from 12GB to 20GB and storage up to 1TB. The Kirin 9020 processor powers the base Mate 80, while Kirin 9030 handles the higher-end models.
Photography enthusiasts benefit from a quad-camera setup on Pro Max and RS Ultimate Design models. This includes a 50MP main sensor, 40MP ultra-wide lens, and dual periscope telephoto lenses with 6.2x optical zoom. The Mate 80 Pro Max and RS Ultimate Design house a 6000mAh battery, supporting 100W wired, 80W wireless, and 20W reverse wireless charging. Additionally, all models run HarmonyOS 6.0 and feature IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance.
Global chip competition remains intense, with TSMC and Samsung leading in 5-nanometer industry standards. But Huawei and SMIC’s improved 7-nanometer chip highlights China’s growing technological capabilities. Pricing starts at $665 (4,699 Yuan) and goes up to $1,830 (12,999 Yuan) for the RS Ultimate Design.
