Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has raised serious Bushra Bibi health concerns, urging authorities to move Bushra Bibi from Adiala Jail to a hospital. According to party leaders, Bushra Bibi’s eyesight problems have worsened while she remains in custody. The party claims that prison medical care is insufficient, so it demands proper treatment at a major facility in Islamabad, including the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
Reports suggest that an eye specialist, Dr. Arif Khan, examined her recently. Medical findings revealed posterior vitreous detachment, which can cause blurred vision symptoms and flashes of light in the eyes. The report also mentioned black spots in vision, headaches due to eye strain, and additional issues such as myopia and astigmatism. Doctors recommended prescription glasses treatment, eye drops, and a follow-up eye examination within four weeks.
Party officials say these conditions highlight serious political prisoner health concerns. A PTI spokesperson’s statement also raised questions about Adiala Jail’s medical facilities. The party alleged possible jail medical negligence and urged transparent medical reporting. Leaders also stressed that female prisoners’ medical rights must be respected under Pakistan’s legal and humanitarian standards.
The PTI’s demand for hospital transfer has intensified the jail health care controversy across Pakistan. Officials argue that proper hospital treatment is necessary because vision impairment can worsen without specialized care. Party representatives also warned that the government bears responsibility for prisoner health and safety.
Political observers note that cases involving Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi already attract national attention. Therefore, medical concerns surrounding Bushra Bibi’s medical report details could influence political debate.
