720 Industrial Workers Receive Flats in Latest Housing Ballot

720 Industrial Workers Receive Flats in Latest Housing Ballot as Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the process. Homeless industrial workers across Lahore, Kasur, and Sheikhupura were allocated flats through a transparent lottery. This initiative is part of a broader workers’ housing scheme designed to support eligible industrial workers and improve living conditions.

The allocation process of flats focused on fairness and accessibility. At the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park, 720 flats were distributed, while an additional 1,872 flats are planned within 18 months. Special industrial workers and widows of deceased employees will receive ground-floor flats and a separate quota, ensuring safety and inclusivity. Provincial Labour Minister Manshaullah Butt highlighted that the Workers Welfare Complex at Sundar Industrial Estate Phase 1 has declared 5,897 workers eligible for housing benefits.

This housing scheme also includes bachelor hostels for 700 workers and free three-marla plots in Jhang and Kamalia after infrastructure development. In Multan, 656 flats and in Nankana Sahib, 544 flats were provided to successful lottery applicants. Workers praised the transparency of the balloting and the efficiency of the housing infrastructure development. These projects aim to enhance both living standards and economic stability for industrial communities.

The initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to labour welfare and employment benefits. By providing flats and plots, the scheme not only addresses housing shortages but also fosters social security and worker satisfaction. With continued development at labour colonies across Punjab, more industrial workers can look forward to secure and comfortable homes.
